Wing Case:

Fibres of any grey brown feather, tied in over top of body

Body:

Amber yellow seal’s fur

Legs:

Honey hen hackle fibres tied in sloping back under thorax

 

Tying Details:

  1.  Run the tying silk to the bend of the hook.
  2. With a strip of any grey-brown feather for the wing case, tie it in at the bend of the hook.
  3. Follow this with the body material of amber yellow seal’s fur, which should be tied in thickly.
  4. Next take the wing case material over the top of the body and tie in.
  5. Follow with seal’s fur for the thorax, very dull brown or black for the large pattern and hot orange for the small.
  6. Finally tie in the legs composed of a few fibres of a honey hen hackle. These are tied in immediately behind the eye of the hook, sloping backwards under the thorax.
