Materials:

Hook: D/E sizes 10 to 16

Silk: Black

Tail: Black Cock Hackle Fibres

Body: Black Poly Dubbing

Hackle: Black Cock Hackle.

Wings: Black Cock Hackle Points tied upright and divided (Optional)

 

Method:

  1. Commence by running the tying silk to the bend of the hook and tie in the tail.
  2. To form the body dub the tying silk with poly dubbing and wind ¾ of the way up the shank.
  3. Tie in the black cock hackle and make 3 or 4 turns.
  4. Tie in the black cock hackle points upright and divided.
  5. Add a little more poly dubbing to the tying silk and finish the body.
  6. Make a head, whip finish and varnish.
