Materials:

Hook: Sizes 10/12

Silk: Brown

Tail: Brown Hackle Fibres

Body: Peacock Herl

Hackle: Brown Hen

 

Method:

  1. If required start by take the tying silk about ¼ of the way down the hook and tie in three turns of lead wire, then run the silk to the bend of the hook.
  2. Tie in at the bend to form a tail the brown hackle fibres followed by three or four peacock herl strands for the body.
  3. Wind the peacock herl strands to just behind the eye and secure.
  4. Secure the brown hen hackle fibres underneath and sloping well back, Trim any waste.
  5. Then form a neat head, whip finish, and varnish.
