Materials:

Hook: D/E sizes 8/12

Silk: Black

Tail: Golden Pheasant Crest Feather

Body: Golden Olive Seal’s Fur

Rib: Gold Oval Tinsel

Hackle: Heavily Palmered Olive Cock with Blue Jay at Head.

 

Method:

  1. Run the Black tying silk down to the bend of the hook.
  2. Tie in the tail and gold oval tinsel. Then make a rope by dubbing the silk with golden olive seal’s fur, run the rope back the eye of the hook to form the body.
  3. Tie in the olive cock hackle and make as many turns as possible to the hook bend.
  4. Take the gold oval tinsel and palmer through the hackle up to just behind the eye, secure and trim waste tinsel.
  5. Secure the blue jay hackle and make two or three touching turns then secure and trim waste.
  6. Make a neat head, whip finish and varnish.
