Materials:
Hook:
D/E sizes 10 to 16
Silk: Black
Tail: Blue Feather Fibres
Body: Flat Gold
Rib: Oval Gold
Hackle: Orange Cock/Hen.
Wings: Crow or Mallard Blue Quill
Method:
- Commence by tying in the tail or tag of red ibis.
- To form the body tie in the lengths of oval and flat silver tinsel.
- Wind on the flat silver and rib with the oval leaving space behind the eye of the hook for the hackle.
- The cock/hen hackle is then tied in behind the eye, three or four turns will suffice.
- The wings, which should be tied in sloping back, are formed from paired sections of quill feathers of the blue black crow, or alternative rook or magpie maybe utilised.
