Method:
- Start by take the tying silk to the bend of the hook.
- Tie in at the bend to form a tail the 4 pheasant tail fibres followed by the copper wire for the underbody, then wind the copper wire to the eye and form a thicker area at the thorax, then back to the tail area and secure.
- Tie in a single pheasant tail fibre for the body secured by the tip and take the tying silk to behind the thorax.
- Take the single pheasant tail fibre and wing it to behind the thorax, secure and trim.
- Using the copper wire, rib the body to just behind the thorax, secure and trim. Take a second single pheasant tail fibre and secure.
- Dub the tying silk with the orange seal’s fur to make a rope and wind the thorax to just behind the eye, then secure and trim.
- Secure the natural red game cock hackle and make three touching turns, then trim off top fibres. Using the single pheasant tail fibre take it over the thorax three or four times, secure and trim.
- Make a neat head, whip finish and varnish.
