Hook:
D/E sizes 8 to 12
Silk: Red
Rib: Oval Gold Tinsel
Body: Red Seal's Fur or Wool
Hackle: Large Natural Red Cock
Tying Details:
- Commence by running the tying silk to the bend of the hook and tie in the oval gold tinsel.
- To form the body dub the tying silk with the red seal's fur or wool and wind ¾ of the way up the shank.
- Tie in the large natural red cock hackle and wind palmer style to the bend of the hook.
- Catch in the hackle with the oval gold tinsel which should be ribbed back up the body through the hackle to the eye where it is secured and trimmed.
- Make a neat head, whip finish and varnish.
