Materials:

Hook: D/E sizes 10 to 16

Silk: Black

Tail: Red Ibis

Body: Flat Silver

Rib: Oval Silver.

Hackle: Black Cock/Hen.

Wings: Crow or Mallard Blue Quill

 

Method:

  1. Commence by tying in the tail or tag of red ibis.
  2. To form the body tie in the lengths of oval and flat silver tinsel.
  3. Wind on the flat silver and rib with the oval leaving space behind the eye of the hook for the hackle.
  4. The cock/hen hackle is then tied in behind the eye, three or four turns will suffice.
  5. The wings, which should be tied in sloping back, are formed from paired sections of quill feathers of the blue black crow, or alternative rook or magpie maybe utilised.
